Black Lightning first took to people’s screens back in 2018 and is now an integral part of Dcs Arrowverse. He even made an appearance in the crossover – Crisis on Infinite Earth’s as a part of The Flash Episode.

Black Lightning Season 3 ended with Jefferson, Jennifer and Anissa pierce exposing the ASA and their efforts to create supersoldiers through experimenting on the children of Freeland while testifying to congress. This led to the disbanding of the ASA, as well as Congress allocates funding for a special boarding school that would help educate and house the metahumans kid. Lynn Stewart proposes and overseeing the school and Jefferson being a well-respected educator – it would make sense to see him involved in the new project for Season 4.

However, all is not too bright on the horizon. Tobias whale is looking to take his seat back on the throne of Freeland’s Criminal Underworld.

It’s safe to say some of Season 4 will involve him fighting his former Lackey Lala and the resurrected Lady Eve to take back what was previously his. Additionally, Season 3 Villain Grave Digger was stripped of his powers in the finale but is still at large.

An official release date for Black Lightning season 4 has yet to be announced. It is believed that the show will return sometime in Fall 2020, most likely in October. This has been the pattern for Black Lightning Season 4 premieres for the past two seasons, though it is possible, it may be held for a spring 2021 release. It is also unknown if the Black Lightning will continue airing on Monday nights or if it might move to another time slot.

Although there is no official confirmation about the cast of Black Lightning Season 4, the show is expected to keep the current cast list with a few add – ons. The series stars Cress Williams, China Anne McClain, Nafessa Williams, Christine Adams, Marvin’ Krondon’ Jones all, Damon Gupton, James Remar, and Jordan Calloway in lead roles. However, the character of Cress Williams, Jefferson Pierce, will not be returning for the next season, as hinted in the third season finale. Apart from him, there should not be much change in the cast list.

Black Lightning Season 4 Storylines

The big takeaways from Black Lightning’s Season 3 finale are that the ASA is no more and the metahuman children they created (Aka The Green Light Babies) have been stabilized. The final scene of the finale saw Black Lightning, Thunder, and lightning testifying before congress to the crimes of the ASA while they occupied Freeland, and offering up a briefcase full of secret ASA documents as proof of their decades-long campaign to create an army of super-soldiers by experimenting on the Children of Freeland.



This resulted in the immediate dissolving of the ASA. The same special congressional Committee Investigating the incident in Freeland also authorized funding for a special boarding school.
